Who are the 3 new characters?
Azucena Ortiz
Given the nickname “The Coffee Queen” due to her family owning a large coffee plantation, Azucena spent her early years dreaming of becoming the ultimate coffee farmer, just like her father. After countless experiments she would eventually succeed, creating her Azucena Blend, earning the highest quality rating at a world-renowned trading fair.
In an effort to better herself and promote her coffee, Azucena persued modelling and dancing, and even studied business administration at the most prestigious university in her country.
So how did she end up as a fighter? Well, one day a plan came to her when she casually grabbed a runaway alpaca in one hand while holding a coffee in the other. Why not use her physical prowess, earned by her training at high altitude, to break into the world of MMA where she could carry her family name to even more impressive heights?
In just her first year of kicking ass, Azucena rose to the rank of champion, which in turn led to the Ortiz Farm growing in fame and influence. Having already become an MMA champ, Azucena has her eyes set on competing in and winning The King of the Iron Fist tournament.
Reina
There’s little to say about the Reina, nicknamed the Purple Lighting. Surrounded by mystery and using blazing-fast attacks, very little is known about her except for two things: she studied at the Mishima Polytechnical School, and she seems to have an intense interest in fighting Jin.
That interest appears to run deeper than just battling him, too. In the trailers, Reina refers to him as Jin-senpai, hinting at some level of familiarity. However, Jim himself doesn’t seem to know who the mysterious Purple Lightning is.
Thus far, the prevailing fan theory is that Reina is the illegitimate daughter of Mishima. Fans have pointed out some of her moves as being extremely reminiscent of Heihachi Mishima, especially a vicious headbutt she delivers to Jin.
Victor Chevalier
Coming from an aristocratic background and exhibiting the elegance of someone used to the finer things, Victor Chevalier brings a little class to Tekken 8.
Descended from a lineage of distinguished knights, Victor is described as dreaming of rescuing those in need ever since he was a boy. Following in his dad’s footsteps, Victor enlisted in the French navy. Sent on dangerous mission after dangerous mission, Victor would eventually leave the Navy with incredible skills, a reputation as a heart-breaker and the codename Phantom Raven.
Victor then took his skills to the UN in a bid to help more people. Fearing the world is on the edge of being taken over by a massive corporation with its own private army, Victor made it his mission to stop them. He succeeds in founding his own armed forces named the Raven Unit, an elite team trained by Victor himself.
Boasting a technologically enhanced katana and pistol, Victor steps back on the battlefield to fight back against G Corp’s hostile takeover alongside his Raven Unit.
