UPDATE: Microsoft has confirmed that Mafia: Definitive Edition will indeed come to Game Pass on August 13th, confirming eXtas1’s prediction.
ORIGINAL STORY: A few days ago a fairly reliable insider by the name Nate the Hate claimed that Mafia: Definitive Edition will be added to Game Pass this August. Thanks to a second source, we now have an exact date.
Said source is eXtas1 who has proven to be exceptionally reliable when it comes to all things Game Pass. Just recently, for example, eXtas1 correctly predicted the day that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 would be added to the service.
In a Tweet on X, eXtas1 said that not only could they confirm Nate the Hate’s claim, but that they could also provide an exact date: August 13.

“I can confirm Nate The Hate’s rumor that Mafia Definitive Edition is coming to Gamepass in August,” said eXtas1. “but I’ll go further and give you an approximate date, which is that it would arrive on the 13th.”
eXtas1 is also predicting that the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will be added to Game Pass on August 8.
There is no word on whether Mafia 2: Definitive Edition and Mafia 3: Definitive Edition will also be added to Game Pass at somepoint.
It’s also worth keeping in mind that rumours of a new Mafia game have been swirling for years now, and have gotten stronger in recent months. The addition of the original game to Microsoft’s subscription service, which is due to undergo some radical changes this year, could be another way to slowly build toward a new Mafia game.
Of course, it could just be as simple as Microsoft needing to feed Game Pass and publisher 2K being more than willing to take a bag of cash for a game that no longer sells many copies.
