Jez Corden, editor of Windows Central, believes that Starcraft 3 is very much real, at least that’s what he says during a drunken Twitter AMA session last week.
Credit to Reddit user SharkyIzrod who spotted this and put it up on Reddit.
A Twitter user asked Corden if he thought Microsoft would have any interest in reviving Starcraft should the Microsoft-Activision deal go through. Jez replied that, “Msft won’t need to revive starcraft.”
From later in the AMA:
@BacTeRiiA_TV: Star Craft 3?
@JezCorden: Yep
@BacTeRiiA_TV: You know anything? 😭
@JezCorden: Yep
Taken together it certainly seems to indicate that Jez things the game is being developed already. As for Jez, he’s a somewhat reliable leaker. While he’s not up there with the likes of Jeff Grubb, he’s still reliable enough to take seriously.
Starcraft 2 was released in 2010 to great reviews and sales, yet despite its success Blizzard have been quiet about a sequel. There have not even been many rumours about a third game coming out.
