Just like the managed democracy of Super Earth, Helldivers 2 just keeps getting better and better. According to recent US sales data, Helldivers 2 has once again sold more than it did in the previous week, an incredibly rare phenomena.
Word comes via Mat Piscatella, a Circana analyst. Posting on X, he said that “Helldivers II US sales went up yet again during its 3rd week in market.”
He went on to mention how rare this actually is: “An honest-to-goodness inverse decay curve so far. Feel like Steve Irwin sighting a rare bird or something. Rare and amazing, in an Australian accent even.”

An honest-to-goodness inverse decay curve so far.
Feel like Steve Irwin sighting a rare bird or something. Rare and amazing, in an Australian accent even.
Exactly how well Helldivers 2 is actually doing though, is a bit harder to figure out. The closest we had to an official confirmation was when Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt replied positively to an X user who guessed it had hit at least 3 million copies sold.
We also know that Helldivers 2 is still sitting as the top selling game on Steam. PlayTracker estimates 3.5 million people own the game on Steam, and claim a 90% certainty that this number is accurate to within 10%, or 0.35m copies. Gamalytic is much more generous with its estimation of 5.9m owners.
None of these take into account PS5 sales.
Until we hear some official word from Sony or Arrowhead, both of which are being surprisingly quiet about the data, we can only speculate on exactly how many copies Helldivers 2 has managed to sell. But we can very confidently say that it’s a fucking lot, right?
I can’t even begin to explain how nice it has been covering Helldivers 2. Like all industries, gaming faces a lot of bad news, especially right now amidst layoffs galore, so it’s awesome to talk about a game that’s just fun to play and is doing great.
