Announced at today’s San Diego Comic-Con, Khaos Reigns is a sizable expansion to the base Mortal Kombat 1 game that will add a whole story, multiple fighters and more for $49.99.

“After repelling the invaders who endangered Fire God Liu Kang’s New Era of peace, Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns expands the story campaign with an all-new cinematic narrative,” the press release reads. “When a perilous threat arrives from an alternate timeline, led by the ruthless Titan Havik whose sole mission is to throw the realms into khaos, Liu Kang must rally his champions and put faith in his enemies to defeat this grave danger. If they fail, the New Era will be reduced to anarchy.”

The expansion will come with Kombat Pack 2, which currently will not be available for sale separately. The expansion will launch with Noob Saibot, Cyrax and Sektor being added to roster, and then at a later date guest fighters Ghostface, T-1000 and Conan the Barbarian will also be added. The last two are modelled on actors Robert Patrick and Arnold Schwarzenegger respectively.

A free update will also add in Animalities to the game, granting every single character in the game ability to turn into an animal before obliterating their opponent. Mileena, for example, transforms into a giant praying mantis and eats Liu Kang’s head. Good times.

Khaos Reigns will uppercut its way onto storefronts on September 24.
